  1. My siblings and I are possibly interested in attending the Cassidy reunion in 2020, are there any details as in a date and where? A group of us 15 are planning a trip to Ireland . Can you please send me so information.

    1. Lori – We don’t have a date yet for the 2020 rally. I hope that we will make a decision in early 2019. We will then announce it on this website and our Facebook page.

  3. Hi, I am a descendant of a Cassidy and I am trying to join the website. I live in the U.S. and when I try to join via Pay Pal, it tells me that the amount of money (ie) $55.00 is not valid. Would you please direct me on what to do? Thank you.

  4. Hi,
I am a descendant of Sarah Cassidy who was convicted of stealing and transported to Australia with her two youngest children. Sarah was from County Monaghan Ireland.
I just paid for a membership but how do I register?
    Thanks Robert

    1. Dear Robert
I am unable to trace your membership fee via Paypal, can you please supply reference so that I can process your membership.
As regards Sarah Cassidy, can I suggest you send all information you already have to [email protected] and I can check our record in the hope that I can add further information to your research
      regards
      Nuala

  5. Hi, I am also wondering if there is a special rate at the host hotel – I am coming from the states and would be happy to save on costs if at all possible.
Thanks and looking forward to meeting you all 🙂

  6. How do I join? My mother was born Anne Cassidy to Edward John Cassidy (born in 1884 at Drumbar, near Donegal Town) and Bridget McNulty Cassidy. His father, also born at their Drumbar farm, was Francsis Cassidy (died in 1888, buried at the Abbey) married to Anne Kelly Cassidy. I know his uncle John Cassidy was born in Drumbar, married Kitty McGinty and settled in the town land of Clogher in 1825. I think my great, great grandfather was named Hugh Cassidy, John Cassidy of Clogher’s brother. I will be in Donegal in May doing more research and enjoying cousins. Where else should I look. The 1901 and 1911 censuses were helpful before more recent revisions.

  7. We have 20 Cassity’s flying from the States in for the clan rally. We would love to assist in any way we can. Let us know when a program is available.

    1. Brendon – what part of the US is your family from? I have just updated the posting to include the program.

    2. Hi Brendon! My brother, Scott and I and our spouses are traveling from the states. We are more than ex cited to be attending the rally. We have reservations at the Killyhevlin, and would be interested in other activities during our time in Ireland. We’re arriving in Dublin on the 27th of June and leaving July 7.

  8. Attention all DNA testers!!!

I am endeavouring to work on all things Cassidy between now and the rally next year. It would be great to be able to tie some of us together via our DNA results, in particular autosomal DNA. So if you have tested at AncestryDNA, FTDNA or 23andMe, please upload your results to http://www.gedmatch.com, a free site and let me know your GEDmatch ID. I am currently working with 12 known kits of people whose Cassidy ancestors go back to Fermanagh, would love to be able to compare them to more. Post here, or contact me via private message, via Wikitree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Coat-12

  9. My mother was a Cassidy…her teacher taught her to spell her name Cassidy…her brother, two years younger, was taught to spell his name CassAdy. I always thought that humorous. I am interested in seeing my Cassidy cousins and comparing notes on things such as that.

    1. Hello we would like to know if the program for the 2017 Rally is available yet please? Me, my wife Eunice and daughter Donna will be travelling to Ireland from Australia for the Rally.

  10. Will there be a special accommodation package at the Killyhevlin Hotel like there was for the 2014 clan rally?

  11. Hi! I’m looking forward to attending the rally next year, and getting to know more Cassidy cousins! I paid for a membership via PayPal a couple of months ago, but never received a confirmation from Cassidy or a packet by mail. Please confirm that you received my membership payment. Thank you!

    1. Dawn – My apology for the delay in responding. I missed your message when it was first posted. I have asked our Chairperson for the statues of your payment and will update you when I receive a response, hopefully soon. Stephen
